Only Two Weeks remain until the Annual Flight of the Bumblebees Event.
The Flight of the Bumblebees will be held on Sunday, July 27 2025, during a four-hour daytime window, from 1700 to 2100 UTC.
This casual QRP CW event consists of 'Bumblebees' who are operating portable stations at outdoor locations, and 'Home Stations' who try to work as many of these portable 'Bumblebees' as possible.
And this year, we will have lots of Bumblebees out there. So far 180 have signed up to be a Bumblebee. There will be Bumblebees in 45 SPCs. We will have at least one Bumblebee in the hard to work states like ID, RI, SC, and SD.
For Home Stations (and Bumblebees) looking for QRP WAS, this will be a good time to go Bumblebee hunting. You can see where all of the Bumblebees are located by checking the reports that are available at https://ars-qrp.com. (If you have forgotten your BB Number, you can find it there).
This event is open to all operators. Anywhere. With the sunspot cycle still on the high side, this year's event has the potential to be very interesting.
Operators who want to go out and setup a portable station at some outdoor location, and be a highly sought after 'Bumblebee', need to obtain a "Bumblebee Number".
This year it’s simpler than ever to obtain a Bumblebee Number. There is still time for you to get a BB Number. The https://ars-qrp.com web site will explain the whole process.
I'll be out there as a 'Bumblebee' - hoping to work you during the event.
