Andy Devine was WB6RER. I worked him on 40 meters while in high school in Orange County, CA. He lived in Newport Beach. This was probably 1968.
i did get to meet him after that QSO.

I met Barry Goldwater K7UGA many times as he lived a few miles from me here in Phoenix. He also showed up at hamfests although it was rare. I saw him one time at the Flagstaff, Az hamfest in the late 1970's. He was also a member of our club the Central Arizona DX Association but he never came to meetings. Our club obtained his call K7UGA for our club call and every few years does a special event with his call. I worked him when he was in WDC as K3UIG when I was in high school in 1967 in Orange County but had no idea who I was talking to as I only knew his K7UGA call. A few weeks later, I received his K3UIG QSL card. Boy was I surprised.

Soap opera might have been Lenore Kingston Conn. Lenore was a
prolific radio actress and was also very active in the YLRL. I met her
several times at the Pacific Pioneer Broadcasters meetings.
I can probably find Andy Devine's call.
