Sounds like it is a cathode-keyed tube transmitter!  Good man...

Grid-block keyed tube rigs have less voltage and current at the key but it is still enough to make you jump.  And still a good test of one's toughness.

The solid-state rigs with their low-voltage at the key are no challenge at all.  I use them, but it just isn't the same...
