I prefer mode A as well as that's the configuration that doesn't store "extra" dots and dashes while sending the current character. Jack Curtis, K6KU designed it that way.
I talked to him at length about it back in 1976. I was so impressed with his work I nominated him for an award from the Veteran Wireless Operators Association http://vwoa.org/ which he accepted.
Morserino has programmed "enhanced mode B" by default which requires additional time to force the retention memory. I just avoid the problem by going to mode A.
Jack Curtis, K6KU spent all that time designing it and he got it right: Mode A.

______________________________________________________________I learned and used all of the modes. If iambic I prefer mode A.But after getting a keyer with the Ultimatic mode and leaning it, (it doesn't take long), I prefer it to all others. My first love is a straight key and still use one for most of my operating.73 - BILL KA8VIT / W8COD====================================

Thus far, I've only read about people who've learned one keyer mode.Ultimatic mode was invented around 1955. Iambimatic mode wasn't invented until 1967. Surely there are operators around who switched from the former to the latter?73,Frank
