Was that KTK transmitter that you sent on using the remote keying facilities of KFS at their manned receiving site at Half Moon Bay, CA one of the transmitters that has a bell shaped note? I remember I always tried to exchange traffic with KFS by listening and calling their 22515 kHz transmitter which my memory of events over 40 years ago says had that beautiful note.

I know you were a radio officer at sea but did you also work for KFS.

Dalt W6AUH probably was there that bitter sweet day. What a fist Dalt had!. Was in the same league as FG if KPH.

Was FG a radio amateur? His call?

Greetings DR.  As you probably know, we (the Maritime Radio Historical Society) have two PreWi PW15 transmitters at the Bolinas transmit site.  These were originally at the PreWi site in Belmont and were moved to the Globe Wireless site in Palo Alto when PreWi was absorbed by Globe.

We transported the transmitters from Palo Alto to Bolinas where one has been restored to regular operation on the KFS (previously KTK) 12Mc frequency.  This transmitter was on the air at Palo Alto for the supposed "last day" of Morse on 12 July 1999 (now the date of our Night of Nights).  Ironically, it was one of the transmitters I keyed from Half Moon Bay when the allowed me to send one of the ceremonial messages on that day.
