Some of my old Ohio friends and I met at Fair Radio Sales on
Thursday last week. We had a great time thoroughly inspecting everything and
selecting items for purchase. The "dungeon" nature of the rear sections
of the store adds to the sense
of adventure. We knew that would be the situation so we each brought
our latest favorite flashlights (another hobby for some of us).
I was pleased that there was a willingness to
seriously negotiate prices on marked or website items. That wasn't always the case. And the various
unmarked chassis, modules, pieces, and parts I selected were all priced
quite reasonably when we discussed
them at the counter.
I'll be sorry to see Fair Radio close, but we made sure to visit before that happens.
It was well worth my trip from Wisconsin - both for the chance to see my friends and to buy some interesting surplus items.
