Nicely done. That is a rare example of a mainstream magazine article that gets almost everything right. Usually an article on an esoteric subject will be full of errors in the eyes of specialists in the field.
Smithsonian is not immune. A couple years ago they had a photo of a scientist who supposedly built her own electronics from scratch for her project. Unfortunately she was holding the hot end of the soldering iron when she posed for the picture. I'm pretty sure some other technician did the actual building...
