Reset password for the brand new FCC User Registration System.
EVERYONE NEEDS TO DO THIS!
I just found out that even though I have been registered with FCC for 20 years they did away with the old CORES system at the end of September 2022 and did NOT carry over the password.
They DID carry over my user name which is my email address.
So I had to ask for this RESET PASSWORD link, it asked a security question that I actually knew the answer to (What street did you live on when you were in the 3rd grade).
You need to reset your password since the old CORES shut down at the end of September 2022, your earlier renewal was likely done in the old system, but now you need to:
You'll need to reset your password because it's a new system.
The email will be sent to your email of FCC record and a copy sent to the secondary email address you set up with FCC.
They will ask you your security question. You should have picked one that you'd remember and you should have a RULE that all responses are lower case so you're not locked out because you answered "Elm" for the street name, I've made a rule for myself that all security questions are lower case, but check before submitting because spell check often capitalizes.
Change your "new password" to your "old password" that way you don't have to update your password manager like BitWarden (highly recommended).
When you've done this you will be able to log into the New CORES FCC system.
