I heard from Gert PA3EYM and he mentions something very interesting to me.  Some of the numbers - for me - are difficult to send with a Russian Semi-automatic key with Cootie Dasher - Russian Cootie Bug or whatever you want to call it.

I still need to finish it, so it's good you mentioned it so I have it now on my to-do list now, hi.
In its unfinished state, I did give it a try as I really wanted to feel how it works.
I found that with numbers, you need to think a bit.
For example, for a 7 you need to start the dah's right.
And a with a 8 you need to start the dah's left.
And than again for the 9 you start the dah's right.
This to go to the dits in a natural left-right movement.
I hope this makes sense, hi.

I like your two youtube videos about "Merchant Marine Telegraph History by N1EA".
As a QRP I always dreamed of becoming a Radio Officer, but 'unfortunately' I was born too late, hi.
Those videos give a nice insight of a Radio Officer.
For me, ham radio is as close as I can get...
