For those who might wish to make their own Radio Room or Maritime Deck Clock, here are some made by myself and Dan Zeitlan, K2YWE.

My files are PDF vector files which don't get jagged if resized and come in red sector only, red and green sectors, and deck clock versions.

https://archive.org/details/rrclocks/ArrclockRG/

Red sectors were 500 kHz silence periods, green sectors were 2182 kHz silence periods where stations were to NOT transmit and listen for SOS / MAYDAY.

Patterns to make your own Maritime Radio Room 12 hour clock. Files from Dan Zeitlan, K2YWE and David J. Ring, Jr., N1EA. N1EA's files are vector artwork which can be opened in vector art program or PDF reader.

The K2YWE clock is sized in the pdf for the Ikea RUSCH clock, which is currently 1.99 USD online. (Early 2018)

There is also a file called marclock.pdf which is a typical marine clock of the same type as the Radio Room clock, but without the silent period sectors of red, or red and green.  Use this if you just want a maritime type clock.

CLICK THE LINKS BELOW TO GO TO THE FILE FOR THE CLOCK FACE.  My files (N1EA) are in vector PDF format and will not distort or "staircase" when enlarging.

High Resolution Raster graphic PDF files from K2YWE.

K2YWE type red sector R/R clock.

VECTOR (scalable) graphic PDF and SVG files from N1EA.

Red Sectors ONLY
N1EA type red sector  R/R clock PDF (vector) file.
N1EA type red sector R/R clock svg (vector) file.

Both Green & Red Sectors.
N1EA type red and green sector  R/R clock PDF (vector) file.
N1EA type red and green sector R/R clock svg (vector) file.

Just a "Marine Clock" with no radio room sectors, like the deck clocks.
N1EA type marine clock (no sectors) markings.
N1EA type marine clock (no sectors) markings svg (vector) file.

So here's a dumb question.  My clock has silent periods marked Hans but yours doesn't.  Did military ships not have to observe silent periods ?  And do you think the one I posted a picture of is perhaps from a merchant marine ship ?
I love the history but I don't know it all ...yet.
Oh and I have a Bureau of Ships Navy comparing watch (Hamilton 2974) that has an early serial #.  #23 made in 1940/1.     Jim N5KY

Someone asked “Why 24 hour format?”

Answer: Because it was always ZULU-time in the radio shack.

Greetings Gents,
Here's a photo of a wall clock I have in the shack. Supposedly it dates to WW2 and was on a Navy ship.  Since there's been chatter about coastal stations and such I thought I would post this photo. Note it's marked Mackay Radio. Any old timers seen a clock like this ??
