[CW] McElroy Wheatstone Perforator

     McElroy tape perforator. McElroy made a manual perforator for 
Wheatstone code tapes. It had three keys on it, Dot, Dash and Space. I 
have found advertising for it but no technical specs or instructions. 
What I want to know is whether the Dot and Dash keys had to be pushed 
for each element or if it worked like a bug, i.e. it would make dots as 
long as the dot key was held down. It seems to me that it would be very 
slow and fatiguing if each element had to be made separately. Has anyone 
here actually used one and know?
