    This is indeed a very early key. I found a biography of Martin at:
<http://www.telegraph-history.org/horace-g-martin/hgmp1.htm>
    It mentions that he married a Miss Gena Stevens. He had a son named 
Horace but there is no mention of other children in the article.
    The name might have been added at any time, Belle was a pretty 
common female name around the turn of the (last) century. Also, there 
were a lot of woman operators at the time.
    There might be more complete biographical or family tree information 
on Martin somewhere. It is an intriguing question.
