To CQ, or not to CQ, that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
the noise and silence of outrageous propagation,
Or to take arms against a sea of reactance
And by opposing end them. To QRT--to transmit,
No more; and by powering off we end
The heart-ache and the thousand seconds of silence
That the S-meter displays: 'tis a silent key
Devoutly to be wish'd. To QRT, to BBL;
To QRX, perchance to QSO—-ay, there's the rub:
For in that QRT what Dx may call,
When we have shuffled off the tuning coil;
Must give us pause--there's the respect
That makes calamity of a long-held license.
For who would bear the whips and scorns of solar minima,
The solar flux's absence, the cries of LID,
The pangs of unreturned QSLs, LoTW's delay,
The threats of FCC fees, and the spurns
That patient merit of th'unworthy takes,
When the OP might his quietness make
With a blown tube? Who would wattages bear,
To dit and dah upon a weary paddle,
But that the dread of unanswered CQDX,
The undiscovere'd entity, from whose QTH
A DXpedition hails, puzzles the will,
And makes us rather bear those ills we have
Than miss the chance for a 5-band WAS?
Thus QSLs do make contesters of us all,
And thus the off chance of a QSO
Is inflamed by the promises of ever higher towers,
And linear amplifiers of untold powers
With this regard their currents pump anew
And send one question: QRL?

Interesting, I think.

Happy Hallow'e'e'n.
