I thought the keyboard wouldn't be a good choice to generate straight-key signals, as each press of the key generates one or more data bursts - not a continuous contact closure. But a google search revealed this program: "Fistcheck"

I have not used it myself, but it seems to be using right-arrow cursor key on the keyboard as a straight key.
