[CW] Origin of Cootie Key

     That was the meaning when I was in grammar scool some 
seventy years ago. Not lice specifically but bugs. Also meant 
anything hanging from someone's nose. As in "wipe your nose, you 
have a cootie".  I am actually not sure how the name "Bug" came 
to be applied to speed keys but the name and the drawing of a 
beetle seem to have originated early on. Might be in the USPTO 
records, I just thought of looking there.
    I never liked the term cootie because of its childhood 
associations.
