Yes breathing on the glass where a visible label used to be sometimes
makes it visible again. Cooling the tube in the refrigerator first might
make that method work better.

I have a lot of old tubes, some triodes that look a lot like this, but I
have never seen a three pin base. Even though only three are needed for
the directly heated cathode/filament and grid, every tube I have seen
has four pins.
