[CW] Phillips Code - What does COP mean?

   It might also be interesting to mention the various "codes" 
intended for commercial and business use. Examples are "Bentley's 
Code", there were several. These were books of phrases coded into 
letter or number groups. The purpose was not secrecy but economy. 
They probably originated for cable use but were used for wire and 
radio also. I don't have a copy accessible at the moment so can't 
give an example. You will find advertisements in old trade 
journals saying something like Cable Hotdog, use Bentley's Code. 
This is somewhat different from the Phillips code which was 
oriented toward press and market reports. Those with old General 
Radio catalogs will find codes for each product.
