Announcing sad news that we have lost the second to last Radio Officer on
SS UNITED STATES / KJEH, Paul MacCarthy, K2MMR has passed away on Saturday,
July 11, 2020. May he rest in peace. Paul was senior first R/O when Junior
1st Assistant R/O Roy Cattell (RC) [as indicated by the message servicing
at the bottom of the message] sent a message to SS QUEEN MARY/GBTT on their
last East bound Atlantic cross on September 22, 1967 at 1845 UTC (1:45 PM
local New York time.) Both ships were in New York Harbor at the time.

the original RCA message blank provided by SS UNITED STATES / KJEH JUNIOR
1ST ASSISTANT RADIO OFFICER, Richard Ostrowski, N2NA.

September 22, 1967 at 1845 UTC (1:45 PM local New York time.) Both ships
were in New York Harbor at the time.
