A general note, not about these particular viedos but about
all digital video: The sound is often out of synch with the
picture because of the digital processing. This was a great
problem at the TV network I worked for. We had a special
adjustable delay for equalizing them on the optical lines mostly
used for program distribution. We had a test signal and an
indicator for getting the two in synch. On occasion they would be
so far out that the equalizer was beyond its range. It appears
that material on You Tube can have very large timing errors. One
sees this on some movies which have "lip flap" the result of
several frames of mis timing. The same sort of thing could happen
with movies on film if the projector was not threaded correctly
and I have seen TV prints where the sound track was printed with
an offset. In any case the point is that the appearance that the
sound is out of synch with the image does not mean its a fake, it
may just be accumulated timing error. There are probably computer
applications that can correct it. Perhaps someone on this list
has such an application and can try it on a suspect video to see
if it fixes the problem.
