[CW] Vibroplex Champion Question and Question 2

All,
The damper bracket is held in place by a round head screw. The hole seems to
be larger than necessary so a previous owner may have enlarged it to
compensate for proper alignment of the damper wheel assembly. I will remove
the damper assembly from my other Champion to see how the hole size compares
and also measure the placement of the hole. But based on my measurement of
the lever bar/rod/spring, I believe the problem is with the length of the
lever bar/rod/spring.
Another bug I recently acquired is a left handed Vibroplex grey Original.
The mainframe has an empty threaded hole on the left side. It would have
been used if the bug was not left handed. So I assume they used a regular
mainframe and then drilled and tapped two holes in the right side. Make
sense?
Thanks,

Subject: Re: [CW] Vibroplex Champion Question
I don't have a Champion but some other keys use a single post
to hold the damper. See what kind of fastening is used. If a
round head screw there may be enough slop to move the support a
little. If a countersunk bolt likely it can't be moved. Frankly,
if the key works properly I would just leave it alone.
