Thanks for the list David. I knew Tom was SK but didn't think to snag that particular list just in case it went away. I have 2 keys on there.
My favorite book by Tom was his " Railroad Telegrapher's Handbook". I have a landline telegraph exhibit at our Railroad museum and his book covers any question I might get.
Hey, I'm curious as to how you sea travelers navigated the sea back in the days when you were active. I assume there was no GPS yet.
We're you still using a ship master clock for longitude an shooting the stars for latitude ?

If anyone is interested, this is the last McElroy bug serial number list that Tom French, W1IMQ (sk) published February 2015 shortly before he died. My key is #1378. It's a deluxe marbelite finish bug with a brown metal carrying case, I bought it from the original owner who bought it in 1938 while in the Navy Yard in Boston, MA where Ted McElroy would often show up and sell keys.
