Sad news from Yann of the Sideswiper Net about our dear friend, Jan Pieter,
PA3CLQ. Jan has been sending his news letter to this list for many years.
I will miss him and his news letter.

He received a message from Jan's son, Robbert.


Hello friends,

I'm deeply sorry to report that our good friend Jan Pieter - PA3CLQ
passed away on July 16. I received a note from his son Robbert
announcing the sad news, see below.

Jan Pieter was the very first Dutch operator to join the SSN, nearly
20 years ago. He was a very kind gentleman, always keen to help
beginners and newcomers. He was the editor of the wonderful PLL
bulletins. He will be greatly missed by all Morse code enthusiasts.
He has been fighting the cancer for several years with great courage
and dignity.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

During tomorrow's sessions, conditions permitting, a short QTC
announcing the sad news followed by a silent period in memory of Jan
Pieter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
