You can either use a vector artwork program Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape,
Karbon (both Linux), or open with Adobe Photoshop or GIMP (for Windows or
Linux) and open up treble size and then reduce to what you need for the
clock size. You won't lose resolution if you open in a raster editor (GIMP
Photoshop) and then reduce, but you might if you open too small a file.
You'll have to estimate and play around until you get the right print size,
check the settings like "expand to fill page" - you do not want that. My
files are vector art - they're mathematical formulas which won't become
jagged.

Maybe someone will chime in with a good source for inexpensive but reliable
round clocks.

They were very common at one time.

I have a great 24 hour movement clock I got at Granger many years ago!
They have one but of course, you'd have to do a custom (masking tape)
variation as I don't have a template for this type clock.

Check home depot or walmart for 6 to 10 inch clocks. The Chelsea which was
typical of this style is a nominal 6 inch clock face.
