[CW] Quality Cootie Key

That's a fine youtube, Stan. You make all three of those sideswipers sing beautifully! I hope you do, indeed, manage to acquire the Begali Sculpture Swing, which you obviously want to.

That other northern Italian machinist, Alberto Frattini, is also a master. He shares a love of chrome and lock nuts with GHD, neither of which are my preference. The GHD management showed the stuff they're made of when they kept their staff on the payroll during the plant rebuilding after the disastrous northern Honshu earthquake of 2011.

GHD makes a fine Cootie also.

The heart of a CW station is its key. If you're a professional machinist, go for it. You can make one for yourself.

Most of us are not machinists. If you're dedicated to the art of cootie keying, you cannot do better than the Begali Sculpture Swing http://www.i2rtf.com/sculpture-swing.html. Sure, it's pricey, but it's a very sophisticated key.

I never got the hang of cootie keying. I live in the electronic keyer world. My finest key is the single-lever Begali Sculpture Mono http://www.i2rtf.com/sculpture-mono.html, followed closely by the dual-lever Begali Stradivarius http://www.i2rtf.com/stradivarius.html with its torsion-blade suspension and the hybrid Begali Leonessa http://www.i2rtf.com/leonessa.html, currently in the dual-lever mode.

When I'm activating SOTA summits I usually prefer the Begali Adventure Dual http://www.i2rtf.com/adventure-dual.html, attached with a special adapter to my Elecraft KX2 http://www.elecraft.com/KX2/kx2.htm, although sometimes I carry my Begali Adventure Mono http://www.i2rtf.com/adventure-mono.html instead. I'm planning an activation tomorrow with the latter.

I can't afford the real estate for an antenna farm, but over the years I've budgeted enough for excellent keys.
