Well, I just bought it! Should be here in a couple days. I was most
concerned with how well the damper would work to cut down chatter and
whether the key has a "soft landing" like my homemade hacksaw blade.
I've never enjoyed using the combination single lever paddle/sideswiper
keys - just too abrupt for me.
Marshall Emm pretty much convinced me that the designer is an engineer
who knows what he is doing and I have never owned a Japan-made key so
I'm looking forward to the experience.
I've been a ham for 57 years and I've been using bugs and 'swipers for
the majority of that time. I have a N3ZN paddle which I use when
chasing rare(er) DX just for kicks. With a callsign like WB2LQF I need
about 30-35 wpm to compete for the standard "599 TU" QSO. I much prefer
a good rag chew at a more human speed with a little personality thrown
in.
73, Stan WB2LQF
