[CW] Off Topic - Mid-Ocean Telegraphy

This is a bit off topic, but I thought it was very interesting as it
mentioned a novel wired means of telegraphy using ships.
A piece of newspaper clipping dated 11 September 1883 concerning the
proposal of Mid-Ocean Telegraphy deems amazing. See the attached
picture for details which was sent by ambidextrous Morse sender, Ray,
VR2UW to the "RADIO OFFICERS, &C" email list.
R/O Ray found it by Internet searching the National Library of New
Zealand via DigitalNZ, the newspaper is Feilding Star:
