[CW] OT - Amelia Earhart Flies Again

Hello Hans,
Huh? "Not under command" day warning, two vertical black balls. We saw
some Greek ships use this far at sea on the North Atlantic during the calm
weather of the summer. It was never done on a USA merchant or USNS ship
that I ever saw unless it was part of the signals for anchorage with no one
at the wheel.
Did I miss something? I'm only a merchant man sailor who stayed away from
the navigation bridge except when them made coffee (which at start of
watch!).
Did one of the photos show a disaster or does NEAR mean something to you
other than the word "near" and the interesting call sign?
Inquiring minds want to know.
