[CW] Thank you, Zenith Radio Corporation - it's been fun

Ahhhh haaaa . My newest (5 year old grandson) has recently been diagnosed with High "something" Asperbergers. Smart as a whip. Taught himself to read at 4, and rules the roost. They were visiting us here a couple years ago, and during church services, the pastor invites everyone to get up and greet the other attendees. He popped up, and went to every single person and shook hands. They were all amazed. But- without other near-his-age brothers or sisters, he is just not knowledgeable about relaltionship with others his age. Goes off and play by himself, or talks to adults. Thanks for the hint here. They live 900 miles away, so I am not around him to try to teach him code, but maybe Ill try to get mom or dad, to use a computer with him (he will show them how) to use a good cw program. I used to use something called CW Keyer, back in the days before windows. HI.

Oh, Kate! Hit me right on the head. For years I would get tense at work and work CW in the evening to mellow out. But there is nothing different about me... it's the other guys! ;- )

Morse code probably falls into the category of things that people with Asperger's syndrome (now known as high-functioning autism) can be very good at. Requires intense concentration, is repetitive "music to their ears." Is a form on communication that does not involve the nuance of reading people facial expressions, etc. I am not officially in this category, have never tried to find out if I am, but I suspect. Engaging in code practice to calm down would be a dead giveaway.

Anyone care to comment on this in light of Charles Ring's comments on Asperger's syndrome and CW operators - or independently?
