I saw this thing yesterday while watching the partial
eclipse (using binoculars as a projector), and wondered
about it. It caused a moderate H.F. blackout this afternoon
here. Everything went absolutely dead for a couple of hours
and then came back. WWV on 20 Mhz from Hawaii was very loud,
maybe S-9+10db earlier and then just went away completely.
Usually WWV in Boulder is weak then anyway but was also just
dead as was WWV on all other frequencies. There have been
several minor blackouts in the last few days, I think from
this same region, 2192. Look out for flying CMEs.
