My question is why the FCC is still accepting comments on this Petition and
posting them on  their website. The public notice for RM-11798 was released
in late November, 2013, and the deadline for comments was supposed to fall
due 30 days later, sometime around the end of the year.  I am aware that the
FCC usually does accept comments for a few days following the official
deadline to account for inevitable delays such as slow delivery by the post
office, internet down, etc.  But on this one it's been almost six months
now,  and comments have been coming in at a  steady pace all along.

Does this mean that deadlines for filing comments to the FCC are
 merely a SUGGESTION with no  legal standing?
