[CW] J-36

This was a collaborative effort between Alberto Frattini and myself. I acquired one of his J-36 bugs in the chrome finish and pondered something special for a different base. I had Alberto make a base out of steel, machine and polish it, and send to me in the raw. The base was then sent to Doug Turnbull in New York for color case hardening. Turnbull is highly regarded for his expertise in restoring firearms. Once I received the base back from Turnbull, I sent it to a gentleman in Oregon who specializes in applying a kiln fired ceramic coating over the color case hardened parts. In this way no worries about finger prints rusting the color case hardened surface. Perfect for a telegraph key. At any rate this is the finished product with these photos being taken by Alberto prior to his sending me the key. A lot of back and forth shipping as I again sent it back to Alberto for the final build once the finish work was complete.
My Imac is so old now that I cannot update new software, so I may run into problems in downloading these photos in the manner you suggest. Perhaps you could post these to share amongst our fellow CW enthusiast.
Alberto gave the J-36 a special serial number of 001/S.
