David,
Interesting, but it shouldn't be too difficult to let the listener choose their own speed.
It also seems that we should be able to have an application that would allow us to listen to printed or spoken text in Morse Code. At any speed of our choosing. And, we could choose the emulation of our liking. Keyboard, bug, SK or cootie! Farnsworth; why not?
The mechanical versions would be from samples of expert operators in those modes.
