Speed-X keys are not serial numbered, like Vibroplex keys are, so we can only know what years any given key was made.  I think that E.F. Johnson keys were made from about 1949 until Nye took over in the 1960's.  Before that, it was Les Logan.  Maybe someone will know more.  Were talking a half century ago.
