[CW] Sinking of Marine Electric

David,
I was looking at your historical info on the sinking of the Marine Electric. I have some more info for you. I was on watch at 
WNU that night. NMA, NMR, NMN, NMF and probably a few others were playing the dit dit game on 500kc until about midnight. I heard the auto alarm and the distress msg and knew by the position that the vessel was off the coast of Virginia and figured NMN would respond. No one answered and he sent it again immediately. I answered,  and told him that the Coast Guard in New Orleans had the info. He acknowledged and kept sending the SOS. It took NMN and NMF about 20 minutes to QSO him. Later that morning he called and said he was abandoning ship and thanked me for keeping a tight watch. I wished him well. Now you know the rest of the story.
