Tanaka is the name of a professor, not the satellite.
Niwaka, in a local dialect of southwestern Japan, refers to impromptu
comical dialog done while wearing a peculiar sad-eyed mask. (from the
article)

So, Jay, do you have any idea of the significance of the Tanaka moniker for
this satellite? My first thought was that it might indicate some Israeli
influence, but coming from Japan, there could be some other reason behind
the name. Any ideas anyone?
