Bruce, I bought the Intrepid as well. It works beautifully. I only wish the finish work were a bit more refined.

I am not a bug operator, so I can't vouch for the Frattini bugs. I have tried one of his iambic paddles and found its quality superb. All Frattini bugs are of the classic bug design. They are probably the best available in that category. See eHam reviews on Frattini keys and paddles. Another bug to consider is the Begali Intrepid <http://www.i2rtf.com/html/intrepid.html> which is the only bug which Pietro Begali makes and it has a radically-innovative design, with the orientation of the vibrating arm reversed, facing the operator. Again, take a look at eHam reviews.
I am anxiously waiting for the release of the dual-lever Begali Adventure and the single-lever Begali Adventure Mono, both designed for use with the Elecraft KX3 and other portable transceivers. Another very interesting Begali paddle is the Leonessa, a hybrid which can be used either in dual-lever or in single-lever mode. I usually prefer single-lever keying, but at the moment just for fun my Leonessa is in dual-lever mode. Changing it back will take about 30 seconds with a simple finger-screw adjustment.
