This one is good!  The Telegraph Operator reads like a suicide note.

Anyone familiar with Mr. Service's superb poetry is well-acquainted with his seemingly eerie fixation on
mortality. That's not criticism of his work...just an observation. "Face on a Barroom Floor" is a masterpiece although
has nothing to do with telegraphy.

Perhaps the best work I've read about telegraphers is Thomas Raddall's The Nymph and the Lamp.
It's outstanding although immature readers probably would find it too salacious.
