Other shrine artifacts could be added, to the memorial, like a coherer,
pancake coil, Audion, crows foot wet cell - has anyone ever noticed that
even in days when communication was slow that advances came quite rapidly,
that the development of the wet cell came only one or two years before
Morse was able to use it and electromagnets to make a telegraph; that the
Audion amplifier was developed only years  before continuous wave
radiotelephone broadcasting became a reality?

The quickness of development in the 1800s astounds me.

I still believe the biggest defining invention / discovery is that of
electric distribution system which allows the ability for almost anyplace
in the world of having enough energy to make a factory or mill possible.
Notice how this came about right around the time of the steam engine, the
rail road, the telegraph, the wireless?  What a 1-2-3 punch!

Small inaccessible areas rich in resources then became accessible.
Railroads and ships moved even the heaviest materials.
