[CW] What is a good straight key?

I was a Coast Guard CW op and used the issued hand keys. All pieces of crap compared to some of the offerings out there in key nirvana. Check out the eham reviews on GHD, and Alberto Frattini. I have several of them and it is like comparing a Timex to a Rolex. Pure delight to both use, and to admire. Not cheap, but hand built one at a time to absolute perfection. These are world class musical instruments for conversing in CW. Life is to short, go for the best........you will be in for a real treat. If you want some more specifics regarding these keys from my perspective, give me a jingle and I'd be glad to elaborate. Good luck with your search, John Barnwell

    Hey All,

I am looking for a good straight key. I have used mostly keyers
and Iambic paddles (Bencher / Vibroplex) for a long time. I was
wondering if I could get an idea of what you all think is the
BEST straight key. I am looking for the best feel or action. I
have an old Signal Company key - but it is not very smooth.

I hope I am making myself clear?

I do not want to tie up the reflector - so please e-mail me
        directly at:

        cbouck01 at twcny.rr.com

        Thanks

        73
