Xlog's keyer will sort of do that. Xlog is available thru Synaptic for Ubuntu. it will send the text to speaker as well as serial/parallel port. one can copy and paste into the keyer. they keyer is primative at best. one cannot stop the keyer except with ESC which empties the buffer.

I've checked all the usual places.  I thought there was a Linux program that would take a text file / txt file and convert to wav or mp3 file or other like ogg or even MIDI. 

I know there are several for Windows and Mac but I cannot find one for Linux. 

I have a request for one, can anyone help?
