[CW] Instant Recognition

Hi Kate
You say taht you all apart at 20. I had the same problem.
My solution was to listen (not copy) to the W1AW code sessions
that start at 35 wpm and go down. In three weeks I was copying
(writing it) at 20 wpm with few errors. Try it for a few weeks.
By the way this method seems to be resistant to the aging process.

Uh oh, you must have been listening to my practice sessions!
5 & H, 6 & B, 7 & Z, D & B sometimes, / & a few prosigns ... basically the
ones you don't hear that often. I think I can configure LCWO.net to drill
on only these characters, so I can give them extra attention. No prosigns,
though :>(. I'm doing pretty well at 15 to 18 now, but fall apart at 20.
Nice article, BTW.

It sounds like you need to develop instant recognition - read my article
about it and see if it applies to you. It's in pdf format at

There really aren't any shortcuts (lke "here comes the bride" for Q" or
"dog did it" for D) because you end up translating it two times - first
from the shortcut, then into letters. Practice practice and more practice!
