I did check several German dictionaries yesterday and one Da-Ger/Ger-Da
dictionary from the 40's terms telegraph keys ( Da.: telegrafnøgle) as
"Telegraphenschlüssel" - so (Tel.)-schlüssel is perhaps an oudated term for
(telegraph) key. Danish also uses 'taste' as a key as on a 'tastatur'
(keyboard) - verb: at taste = to key or activate a key, e.g.
push-button/lever on a microphone.
Da. still uses telgrafnøgle and not telegraftaste.
