sri for the blank msg. I handled NTS traffic at about 27wpm using a ball point pen, writing a combo of styles that I found easiest and fastest. I handled it at 30wpm by clenching my teeth and trying harder. Sending.. well, long story. I never use a mill or typewriter. Mostly a paddle, often a bug, and up to 20wpm with a hand key. over 62 years experience, and I insert personality with all but the paddles when it seems appropriate. I don't recall old-timers being upset about a swing in one's fist. Shave and a haircut, two bits. or SK.. sent like a duck quacking. Now that's personality.

That's how I do now. I could print up to about 22-25 or so, but got too far behind any faster. Also, I switched from a pencil to ballpoint pen and that helped speed my writing.

David, you mean you print? For me, an e is just a loop. Cursive has always been faster than printing. Of course we could all learn shorthand, but I just write the words as they come.
