As usual, I will put in my 2 cents worth: I made up a special
simplifed alpha-nummeric symbol set to allow rapid writing of received CW (or anything else) - not a short hand but a kind of "shortened graphology" - I've been practicing using it on received CW.

HI
I can do an "E" with just one stroke; draw the straight line down, back up the vertical line, and make the horizontal
lines on the way back down. Takes some practice, but it can be done.

David, you mean you print? For me, an e is just a loop. Cursive has always been faster than printing. Of course we could all learn shorthand, but I just write the words as they come.

You can modify your handwriting for more speed: You can write an "E" by making a swing like "(" with a right-going "-" at the center, or a zig-zag!
Sure is faster when copying "E"!
