Charlie, you are quite correct on that. But, you forgot to mention the cranked up power also. There is little QRP in that world.

Jamming and adjacent channel interference are so commonly caused by lids. They probably drive their cars the same way too.

Below is mention of the digital modes - that I had not thought of. They do take up some band space.

Makes for a need of good front ends and narrow filters.
