[CW] CQ CFO Chicken Fat Operators - QTC

CFO and SOC - Second Class CW Operator's Club - have a common root:  Jim
Ricks, W9TO and Marvin Carter, W4ZMQ.  Marv was a FOC member and legendary
high speed (designed the "TO Keyer"), Jim never was asked to join, so they
came up with SOC - that was Marv's idea and Marv sent his social security
after the QSO - in mock of FOC practices of "sending FOC numbers"!  Marv was
a character - he drove around with an 18 foot whip on the back of his Buick
and one night wiped out a bunch of overhanging florescent lamps at a gas
station in Georgia.  :-) Oops!  I was talking to him at the time.  The owner
was mad and cussed at him but Marv just took off!

CFO came about around the same time - the two clubs intertwined before they
got formalized.

I see you copied Andrew, but I knew you would, you're a sharp operator!
