would you rather have it as a battleground or a campground, Hans?

I am in that project and I can tell you it is not a trivial pursuit.? Just to get started, making a shorter antenna for 160 meters is simple by comparison to the narrow 600 meter band.? Trying to do it from a ranch is also considerably easier than trying to do it from an apartment.? There is much to learn there at 500 KHz and at least the project itself, whether it ever becomes HAM territory or not, is well worth the time involved.? As far as I know it is not currently being considered for a HAM band except by a few individuals who do not have that authority.? People involved in the project also happed to be HAMs, but it is not a HAM experiment. ?I?am, myself, running up against some strategic difficulties (not so much technical at the moment...strategic), but I?am not giving up.? ?There are also people who are working at much lower frequencies and finding radical answers to the associated problems.

It's a complete mystery to me why 600 meters is being considered as a ham band.

?

Seem kind of like turning Gettysburg battlefield into a Girl Scout campground.
