[CW] Any commercial CW left on HF?

John, I'd rather see amateurs use 500 kc/s for CW than have it lost
which it would be.

Briefly I had a vision of commercial CW and amateurs repopulating 600
meters like it was in the old days.

As you have seen, the commercial R/Os and Museum Stations don't want
the amateurs to have the band, but the commercial R/Os involved with
the ARRL's 600 meter project certainly do and they see the posibility
of having a use: High powered commercial stations using digital modes
and CW on 600 meters to effect emergency communications. During
non-emergencies, the museum stations could play "history" and the hams
could DX on non-500 kHz frequencies.

So far the R/Os don't want to play nice!

So I'm all for keeping 500 kHz with CW no matter which kind - but I'd
rather have a mix of amateur and commercial "history" stations.

This may not be happy news for David, in his Radio Officer's hat, that
they are actually on 500 itself, rather than being nearby. I found it
surprising myself.
