Yeah -sure --- he couldnt hear me either. I tried again this morning - for
about 2.5 hours - nada.
100 watts and dipole at 40 ft. My amp is useless right now, since I have no
way to key it from my IC706, spare rig. The Kenwood is in the shop. In
fact, I just now got a note from Kenwood east its ready to ship back to me,
and just finished giving them my credit card number, so should have it in 2
or 3 days. Im only 120 or so miles from them.

You probably were hearing a very tired operator, with that ETM2b keyer I
bought in Hong Kong in 73-75 era. I cant get the darn thing adjusted and it
continually wants to drop off the last dit in lots of words, and in my call.
Didnt wanna mess with it (or anything else) till get the Kenwood back.

Of utmost importance is getting it back, the amp hooked up, the beam and
rotor back in the air this week, before the VU7 shows up. I put the amp
online, the week AFTER last years VU7 operation. Gut reaction of never
getting thru to them. I really wanted to work everything without an amp -
but working one with an amp is better than not working it at all!!!!!!

I have an appointment on the phone tomorrow with that gal up at the
University of Pittsburgh, who selected me as one of her 300 stupes for the
Morse Code/ Memory project. Its gonna be interesting, because I seldom if
ever copy in my head, and EVERYTHING goes on paper - or at least notes
as I go along. Did you get onbaord with that?
I think it was a note from you, on the group, that told us of it.
