I clearly do not believe in running a List quite the way you do Jan. Yes,
there was a good bit of what you listed. Should I call a halt to it simply
because some of it was inane? Should everyone on the list be afraid to
comment because the politically Correct Police are going to come down on
them for a couple of remarks that are less than 'proper'? Not on my List do
they have to be so concerned that they parse every word and phrase. I think
David hit the nail on the head.
If there was an overflowing amount of traffic on the list, or if someone was
being what, in my judgment was a lot stronger than mildly critical, I would
deem intervention, PRIVATELY, to be appropriate. The word NONSENSE and the
DELETE key were made for each other. That's all that is necessary, and you
may easily do that any time you dislike something. Publicly railing against
it not useful.
Your comments, by the way, were right at, or a bit past, that "mildly
critical" ruler I mentioned. Furthermore, as a private email to me or to
David, that ruler just isn't the same thing at all. Go ahead, get it off
your chest. That's part of running a List-but not publicly. THIS would have
all been private, but since your comments were to the List, I felt it better
to address them to the List.

Can you folks not figure out what is (1) worth about and (2) on the
topic of this list? My God, what drivel! I'm sure glad the lists I deal
with regularly--Icom,e.g.--are run by people who know NONSENSE when they
see it.
